“Chief Willy Ezeugwu has represented the people without a public office; he will do more with one” Nsukka Students’ Leaders

Chief Willy Ezeugwu
Chief willy Ezeugwu who is currently in the senatorial race to represent the good people of Enugu North senatorial district under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has definitely attracted a number of well meaning credits to himself “he is more or less a doer”.
The political solicitor who is currently the patron of Boko Haram Victims in Nsukka and the patron of Federation of Nsukka Students has shown effective representation in his place of service; until date, he has worked as the secretary of CNPP (Conference of Nigerian Political Parties) and has shown effective representation. His interest has always been to put the interest of the people first!
During the Fuel Subsidy Saga, Chief Willy was a principal player in seeing that the masses be considered in decisions of government. In an interview with the press at the time, he insists that withdrawal of fuel subsidy will only aggravate the hardship in the country. He advised government to diversify the economy in order to generate more revenues to run the country. He further asserted that “any government that does not think of the masses, a government that always come up with policies that are anti- masses, that government has nothing to offer. If you consult just a few clique who are from the middle class upwards what happens to the downtrodden who are going to be hurt with your policies.”

Chief will has shown great concern over security challenges in the country; few months ago at the All Political Summit in Abuja, Chief Ezeugwu made it clear that insurgency was neither created by Jonathan nor his party and also said that the problem of insurgence should be the concern of every Nigerian irrespective of tribe, religion, or party, and that we should all join hands to find a solution to it. Since the inception of the insurgency, Chief Ezeugwu has provided shelter and food for over 100 victims of the insurgency from Nsukka through public fund raising sessions and personal contributions.

Chief Willy Ezeugwu is definitely a man of uprightness an transparency; irrespective of the fact that he nurses ambition for the parliamentary seat, he maintains that immunity should not be granted to lawmakers to ensure credible legislation. He raised alarm over recet moves by the House of Representatives to grant immunity to lawmakers saying that the bill for that purpose which scaled second reading is a final move to legalize corruption and destroy the country. In a statement by Chief Willy Ezugwu, he asserted that pushing ahead with the bill marks the height of insensitivity and sheer disrespect for constituents at a time when the preponderance of opinion among Nigerians is for the immunity clause to be removed for the executive arm because of the corruption bazaar in the land.
There is still lot of achievements made by Chief Will, if he was able to speak for the people without a seat, then he would speak more with a seat.

The congregation of Nsukka Students’ Leaders has said with crystal clarity that they believe in the candidacy of Chief Ezeugwu because his interest protects theirs. They request other well meaning individuals and groups to endorse Chief Willy for effective representation.  “Chief Will Ezeugwu has represented the people without a public office; he will do more with one” they said.
